I am an experienced nonprofit founder and leader, grassroots organizer, chief of staff/chief operating officer, and researcher/scholar.

Work

I’m the founder and Chief Operating Officer of JustDatalytics, a firm focused on nonprofit executive consulting, fractional C-suite service, data analysis, and technical assistance.

I serve in leadership positions with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences and the American Bar Association, and on three Institutional Review Boards (IRBS): University of Cincinnati, MDRC, and North Star Review Board.

I founded and served for over five years as Executive Director of the Florida Justice Center, a statewide legal aid organization. Prior to that, I worked in law enforcement and operations management. That combination of frontline, operational, and advocacy work informs how I approach research: I try to produce findings that are useful to the practitioners and policymakers actually making decisions, not just to other academics.

I’m a 3rd year PhD student in Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati.

Research

My research is multidisciplinary. It sits at the intersection of criminal justice, political economy, psychology, and public policy. Some of my current studies focus on public opinion and policy, labeling theory, the political economy of punishment, institutional corrections, prison reentry, and restorative justice.
